For our team in Prague, we are looking for talented new employees. You will work on technically challenging and interesting tasks in the field of software for biometric systems (fingerprints, face recognition etc.). The work includes the complete test lifecycle of our software (e.g. device drivers, biometric libraries, middleware, interconnected systems, applications, mobile apps or server/cloud software) and embedded software/firmware running on our devices.

This position is dedicated primarily to manual testing. You will be responsible for preparing and configuring the test environment and executing tests using a variety of test tools. Your work will be indispensable for bug identification, reproduction and resolution. You may also contribute by organizing collections of fingerprint or face images, creating techniques for spoofing fingerprint readers or face cameras, executing camera test is various lighting conditions, qualifying Windows drivers or various HW devices etc.

As our Senior Software QA Engineer, you’ll support HID’s success by:

  • Strongly contribute to the whole software test lifecycle – create test plans and specifications to test all design requirements, execute tests, document test results and provide test reports, evaluate code coverage, maintain test methodologies, participate on the software release process

  • Cooperate closely with software engineers on identifying, reproducing and resolving software problems

  • Collaborate with other teams on system and interoperability testing

  • Analyze and collect metrics on defects / defect patterns, to drive improvements in test coverage and product design to increase product quality and usability

  • Develop, maintain and improve testing infrastructure

  • Substantial experience in manual software testing and software test lifecycle

  • Knowledge of various test/development methodologies such as BDD, TDD, Acceptance Testing, Unit Testing, System Testing, Performance Testing and Integration Testing

  • A good working knowledge of either Windows or Linux, and at least basic knowledge of the other OS. We expect the ability to prepare and configure test environment and execute tests on these systems

  • Ability to complete tasks independently, with minimal supervision.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Precise, systematic and organized work style. Attention to detail, reliability, dependability

  • Ability to prepare and configure test environment and execute tests on Android or iOS (optional, but preferred)

  • Working knowledge of source code management and configuration, preferably git (optional, but preferred)

  • Experience with installing and administration of Windows or Linux (optional, but preferred)

  • Experience with using and configuring VMware or Docker (optional, but preferred)

  • Experience with using TestRail (optional, but preferred)

  • Experience with using Jenkins and its configuration including writing the build scripts (Jenkinsfile) (optional, but preferred)

  • DevOps skills (optional, but preferred)

  • Programming skills in Python or other languages (C, C++, C#) (optional, but preferred)

    Your Experience and Education include:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study

  • Experience: Minimum 4 years

  • Ability to effectively communicate in the English language, both verbally and in writing

  • Ability to read and interpret technical journals, specifications, international technical standards, etc.

  • Working knowledge of Czech or Slovak is an advantage
