Medtronic Principal IT Solution Architect – Distribution, Transportation and Trade Compliance in Prague, Czech Republic

The Global Operations and Supply Chain Value stream is accountable for the plan, build and run activities for all applications from the Global Operations and Supply Chain stakeholders. The Global IT Deliver team is part of the Global Operations and Supply Chain value stream and is accountable for the Warehousing, Transportation, Dangerous Goods and Trade Compliance systems.

We are seeking an experienced IT Solution Architect to join our team and lead the architecture design and implementation of distribution, transportation, and trade compliance applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT architecture, with a deep understanding of industry best practices and terminology.

For this role, we prefer you to be based in Prague for the hybrid work (2 days a week in the office), but we are also open to fully remote working within Czech Republic. Medtronic does not cover the cost of relocation to Prague, Czech Republic.

A Day in the Life

• Develop and maintain the overall architecture of distribution, transportation, and trade compliance applications, ensuring alignment with business objectives and industry standards.

• Collaborate with (senior) business stakeholders and IT teams to gather requirements and translate them into architectural designs and solutions.

• Lead the evaluation and selection of technology solutions, ensuring they meet the company's needs and are scalable and secure.

• Provide technical guidance and support to development teams during the implementation phase, ensuring adherence to architectural standards and best practices.

• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies and assess their potential impact on the company's IT landscape.

• Supports the full lifecycle management of the entire IT Global Deliver portfolio including the selection, appropriate usage, enhancement and replacement of information technology applications, infrastructure, and services.

• Provide architectural guidance for 3rd party software assessments.

Must Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field. Master's degree preferred.

• Proven experience as an IT Solution Architect, with a focus on distribution, transportation, and trade compliance applications.

• In-depth knowledge of industry best practices and terminology related to distribution, transportation, and trade compliance.

• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies.

• Experience with cloud-based solutions and modern application architectures.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders.

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience required.

Nice to Haves

• Relevant certifications such as TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect.

• Experience with the Medical Technology sector preferred.

• Experience with SAP architecture preferred.
