Overview of position

Working independently and as part of a group of Tessent engineers in the EU, US, and worldwide that applies advanced DFT (Design for Test) methodologies to ensure the manufacturing quality of microchips. In the Tessent DFT Marketing team, Product Engineers and Technical Product Owners work with the newest, unreleased features and present them to engineering teams in IC companies.

You will be an intern in the Tessent DFT Marketing team

Tessent is Electronic Design Automation (EDA) software developed by SIEMENS. The Tessent tool is used by the largest companies in the IC industry to insert DFT logic and prepare their microchips for manufacturing tests. The DFT is a branch of engineering, based mostly on R&D. The DFT solutions designed by our engineering teams are based on IEEE standards and usually go beyond them.

The Tessent DFT Marketing team is a group composed of Product Engineers and Technical Product Owners who are experts in modern DFT technologies. The team members are responsible for beta feature evaluations and the preparation of demonstration materials, including beta documentation. The newest features implemented in Tessent are presented to major customers to explain the technology, benefits, and Tessent use models. Those new technologies will be used in future chip designs.

What will you be doing?

  • Learning about modern DFT technologies in the IC industry

  • Learning about hardware description languages (Verilog) and scripting in Unix (Bash)

  • Cooperating with software developers and other team members in the EU and US

  • Helping in the preparation of demonstration materials for major companies in the IC segment

  • In common work, we use Linux, Bash, Tcl (script language popular in DFT tools), Verilog, JIRA, MS Office, MS Teams

How long will the internship last?

  • Summer internship - 3 months (01/07 – 30/09/2024)
