DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for editing and formatting externally-facing documents to include technical articles, white papers, proposals, publications, books, manuals, reports, and marketing materials.

  • Edits material for spelling, grammar, and punctuation following in-house style guide and standards.

  • Provides critical feedback to authors concerning voice and flow of documents.

  • Ensures there is a consistent, high quality output of externally facing deliverables.

  • Collaborates with Proposal Managers, Engineers, Contracts and others to ensure compliance with customer proposal format requirements.

  • Coordinates the development and approval of graphics for integration into documents and other deliverables.

  • Maintains version control and archives final deliverables.

  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.

  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating practices and procedures.

  • Other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a High School diploma and four or more years of progressive experience in technical editing in a commercial or government organization or a related field. Equivalent additional work experience may be substituted in lieu of education

  • Must demonstrate the ability to use a PC to manipulate text, tables, figures, and forms; and, have a complete understanding of applicable software such as MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel. Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator are not required but would be a plus.

  • Must possess the ability to meet established timelines, and coordinate multiple work phases; determine the appropriate approach at the task level or, with assistance, at the project level; and, provide solutions to a variety of complex document management problems.

  • Must be able to communicate and interface effectively with all levels within the organization including management while also having the ability to work both independently or as part of a team.
