General Atomics Project Manager in Poway, California
General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager with prior experience leading military aviation training at a unit or schoolhouse level to support service offerings with significant growth potential.
This position reports to a Senior Program Manager and is responsible for the planning, institution, and management of newly created global training projects across domestic and international MQ-9 customers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage the development and delivery of training programs for customer aircrew and maintenance personnel
Develop business plans to establish training services as a profitable GA-ASI business area
Lead all phases of assigned program(s) from initiation through delivery.
Responsible for program(s) which represent new growth potential.
Applies established technologies using standard principles, theories, concepts, and techniques to provide solutions to a variety of technical and business problems.
Typically accomplishes objectives through matrixed support managers.
Responsible for decisions that could impact outcomes where erroneous decisions could cause serious schedule delays and expenditure of additional time and resources.
Combines and reports execution metrics and data in support of program and account managers.

Job Qualifications:
Typically requires a bachelor’s in business administration or related discipline and eleven or more years of progressively complex experience in the project administration field with at least five of those years in project management. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
Must demonstrate an extensive understanding of project management processes and procedures, planning and scheduling methods, and budget management as well as the ability to organize, schedule, and coordinate workloads to meet established milestones and budgets.
Must possess:
the ability to initiate, plan, and manage projects
the ability to identify issues, analyze and interpret data and develop solutions to a variety of non-routine matters of diverse scope and nature
strong analytical, communication, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills
the ability to work independently and lead in a team environment.
Must be able to work extended hours and travel as required.
Ability to obtain and maintain DOD SEC clearance is required.
