Nuvance Health Registered Nurse - Pre-Surgical Testing, Full Time Days in Poughkeepsie, New York

Nuvance Health has a network of convenient hospital and outpatient locations — Danbury Hospital, New Milford Hospital, Norwalk Hospital and Sharon Hospital in Connecticut, and Northern Dutchess Hospital, Putnam Hospital Center and Vassar Brothers Medical Center in New York — plus multiple primary and specialty care physician practices locations, including The Heart Center, a leading provider of cardiology care, and two urgent care offices. Non-acute care is offered through various affiliates, including the Thompson House for rehabilitation and skilled nursing services, and the Home Care organizations.

Summary: Utilizes the principles of the nursing process to provide for continuity and quality of nursing care administered to a specific group of neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult or geriatric patients consistent with the philosophy, goals, policies and procedures of the Nursing Department and Hospital Administration. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care to the age of patient served on nursing unit or by patient care departments. Assumes responsibility for implementation of the Pre-Surgical Testing Program.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.

Experience: Minimum of one year of surgical experience. Perioperative experience preferred.

License: Current license issued by New York State to practice as a Registered Nurse. BCLS required.

Working Conditions:

Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity

Occupational: Significant occupational risk

Physical Effort: Very Heavy effort. May exert up to 50 lbs. force

Physical Environment: Significant exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
