Under the supervision of the Chief Operating Officer, the Quality Manager will be responsible for identifying, implementing, monitoring clinical quality improvement and providing related performance improvement and quality incentive/value-based care management and support work. Oversight responsibilities include promoting a culture of consistent best practices regarding patient care and regulatory compliance that aligns with Premier Medical Group’s mission to provide high quality services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops clinical policies and protocols in collaboration with providers and clinical staff that promote a high standard of quality care and patient safety.
Responsible for systems for collection, monitoring and reporting of data collected for quality improvement measures, health plan and regulatory agency compliance e.g., AAAASF.
Conducts data analysis relating to quality improvement to ensure that care provided meets or exceeds best practice standards.
Actively implements a Lean approach to clinical workflow and ensures staff work to the top of their license.
Collaborates with IT, the Contracts Specialist and senior management to fully leverage Medent, Dashboard MD and Payer data to manage quality data and results regarding value-based care, population health, chronic care management and clinical best practices.
Ensures the timely reporting of quality reports and dashboards and surveys recommendations for targeted improvement and improved quality and financial results.
Partners with clinical and administrative leaders and staff in the execution of improvement projects related to organizational goals and strategies.
Provides guidance to employees/management in complying with requirements and intentions of accrediting/regulatory agencies and ongoing quality improvements.
Maintains awareness of regulations, keeping abreast of literature and trends on quality related to practice management and implements changes.
Provides ongoing clinical staff education and management education as needed.
Reviews complaints, concerns or questions relative to quality issues, and provides a consultative leadership and supportive approach to successfully implement needed changes and corrective actions.
Maintains the strictest confidentiality in the areas of patient, employee, and physician relations.
Practices and adheres to the Code of Conduct philosophy and Mission and Value statement.
Perform other duties as required.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Health Science, Public Health/Policy; and 3-5 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. RN experience desirable. Master’s degree preferred.
Progressive experience in quality improvement in a healthcare environment.
Progressive experience in healthcare compliance.
Knowledgeable about PCMH, CPC+, Primary Care First and Value-based care and payer incentive contracts management.
Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) a plus
Sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus.
Strong background in quality assurance, claims analysis and reports development.
Strong Excel skills
Knowledge of AAAASF or similar standards pertaining to office-based surgery, federal and state regulations and requirements which pertain to patient care information.
Ability to effectively present in-service education and information and respond to questions from physicians, staff and patients.
Strong proactive communication skills and the ability to relate to and influence people at all levels of the organization.
Ability to function effectively in a strong team setting.
