Description

We are seeking a part-time Full Charge Bookkeeper in Portsmouth, Virginia, 23704, United States. This role will be crucial in maintaining the financial records of our organization, including the recording of debits and credits, the production of balance sheet and income statement reports. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented and highly skilled in using Quickbooks Online and other accounting software.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the general ledger.

• Prepare and record journal entries and adjusting journal entries.

• Manage the year-end closing process.

• Reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.

• Maintain financial security by following internal controls.

• Prepare payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.

• Answer accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.

• Comply with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.

• Prepare special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.

• Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Requirements • Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper

• Demonstrable proficiency in using Quickbooks Online

• Proficiency in preparing and managing journal entries and adjusting journal entries

• Experience in managing year-end closings

• Familiarity with the financial needs and requirements of nonprofit organizations

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

• High attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
