Position: Plastic Quality Engineer Location: Must be open to relocation to GA Pay Range: $70-$80k/yr. CANNOT SUPPORT SPONSORSHIP - NO OPT We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Plastic Quality Engineer with a minimum of 1 years of experience in quality assurance, preferably within the automotive industry and with expertise in plastic components. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field) and possess a strong understanding of quality management systems, process improvement, and root cause analysis. This role will involve ensuring the highest standards of quality for our products, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to meet customer and industry requirements. Qualifications: Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field). Minimum of 2 years of experience in a quality engineering role, preferably within the automotive industry. Hands-on experience with plastic materials and processes (e.g., injection molding, extrusion, etc.). Strong knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., IATF 16949, ISO 9001) and automotive quality standards. Proficiency in quality tools such as FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, PPAP, and 8D problem-solving methodology. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and quality management software. Experience with CAD software and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) is a plus. Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance processes and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., IATF 16949, ISO 9001). Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for quality issues related to plastic components and automotive systems. Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure quality standards are met throughout the product lifecycle. Perform quality audits, inspections, and testing of materials, components, and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications. Utilize quality tools such as FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), Control Plans, SPC (Statistical Process Control), and PPAP (Production Part Approval Process). Monitor and analyze quality performance metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement. Support new product development (NPD) projects by providing quality input during design and prototyping phases. Work closely with suppliers to resolve quality issues and ensure incoming materials meet specifications. Prepare and present quality reports to management and customers, as required.
