FirstLight Fiber Project Manager in Portsmouth, New Hampshire

Overview

  • Responsible for implementation of large and complex telecommunication solutions which includes, but not limited to, creating and maintaining detailed project plans and schedules, understanding unique aspects of projects as well as having working knowledge of the technical and operational specifications.

  • Be a trusted team player, able to partner and influence at all levels of the organization to develop and implement long-term strategic initiatives.

  • Owns and manages all customer communications or escalations pertaining to implementation of telecommunication hardware and software service (s).

  • Communicates order status in a timely manner to customers via conference calls, emails and phone calls.

  • Subject matter expert (SME) with regards to customer contracts, understands all aspects of the customer contracts, processes and any other nuances.

  • Delivers project status and presentations to the customers on a weekly or monthly basis depending upon customer requirements, which is delivered via electronic presentations or in-person meetings.

  • Ability to prioritize, organize and exhibit excellent time management skills.

  • Regularly report and communicate status on all projects to internal senior management.

  • Track and report on project budget throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Manage twenty (20) to forty (40) projects at any given time.

  • Manage the Change Order process.

Qualifications

  • Must have telecommunications, data center and/or IT background.

  • Thorough understanding of Data, Voice, and DataCenter services.

  • Experienced in interfacing with internal and external customers alike.

  • Ability to focus and deliver pro-actively in a dynamic multi-tasking, fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate across organizational boundaries.

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong PC skills in Microsoft Project, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Should demonstrate a keen attention to detail. Must be self-directed, understand the requirements, and take the initiative to complete tasks or assignments with little or no direction.

Education and/or Experience

  • Associates degree and a minimum of five (5) years relevant telecommunications experience

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred but not required.
