Teledyne Maintenance Mechanic in Portsmouth, New Hampshire

Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Preventative equipment maintenance, utilizing PM software program tracking equipment downtime, responding to work orders, and completing routine tasks.

  • Operate and maintain facilities water room.

  • Mechanical in-house repairs throughout facility and grounds.

  • Performs work in various maintenance trades including carpentry, electrical, plumbing and painting.

  • Routine equipment repair, building upgrades and installation of fixtures.

  • Makes periodic or special inspections of premises to determine repair work necessary.

  • May work from rough sketches and drawings.

  • Works on assignments that are moderately complex where judgement is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations.

  • Normally receives general instruction on routine work, detailed instructions on new assignments.

  • Chemical handling is also a must.

  • Ability to perform outdoor duties in inclement weather if needed.

  • Must be able to work in a team environment with a positive attitude.

  • Education and Experience :

  • Minimum four or more years’ relevant experience in the maintenance trades

  • Formal knowledge in a specialized fields including carpentry, electrical, plumbing and painting processes.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Must be able to use time and resources effectively and efficiently; have excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.

  • Basic computer skills

  • Carpentry, electrical, plumbing and painting processes.

  • Water treatment experience a plus

  • Performs routine equipment repair, preventative maintenance, building upgrades and installation of fixtures.

  • Housekeeping, trash handling, floor cleaning with machine, forklift operation.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

  • Safely operate various power tools and equipment

  • Use of small hand tools
