Actalent CAD Designer in Portland, Tennessee

Job Title: CAD DesignerJob Description

As a CAD Designer, you will establish and maintain knowledge of direct use components and processes. You will review and compare customer drawings to Sales PO’s and report any discrepancies between final drawings and Sales Orders. Your role will involve reading, understanding, and interpreting complex Customer supplied drawings and detail prints. You will recognize potential design issues and collaborate for solutions. You will manipulate geometry, manage formatting and layers in complex CAD drawings, and design layouts and custom products based on specific project’s requirements. You will create detailed customer facing drawing packages using AutoCAD 2D in Architectural format, prepare and calculate detailed takeoffs for custom parts using Excel and CAD 2D, and perform self-reviews of created drawings and takeoffs. You will take meticulous notes during the design process to present upon review and revise drawings and takeoffs as directed by customer or supervisor.

Hard Skills

  • AutoCAD 2D

  • Drafting certificate or 1-3 years of experience using AutoCAD to read prints and update 2D drawings

  • Preparing and calculating detailed takeoffs for custom parts using Excel and CAD 2D

Soft Skills

  • Collaborative problem solving

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 9 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Portland, Tennessee.

Work Environment

This position will be working in an office setting within a manufacturing facility. You will be part of the integration team that designs all the wiring systems and integrates the wiring components. This position will involve a training period of 3-6 months, but you must already have a working knowledge of AutoCAD from the start.
