How will you make an impact?

This application scientist role will work closely with product team, field groups, customers and potential collaborations to drive metrology development roadmaps for the existing and future products in fab.

What will you do?

· Own new metrology application development, beta tool performance field evaluation in Fab

· Provide continuous requirements to the product groups on system performance, features and gap analysis between our own metrology and bench marketing technology through all phases of product development as a technical expertise

· Drive improvements by translating customer challenges into metrology related problem statement and resolving these challenges using ThermoFisher solutions

· Support sales materials including new product sale training, applications notes, and technical presentations

· Lead customer engagement and applications training post sales cycle and after instrument has been installed.

· Mentor and accelerate junior engineer’s growth through leading by example

· Work with demo lab staff to develop effective demonstration techniques

· Travel as needed to visit with customers and other Thermo Fisher sites (domestic and international)

This position is ideal for an technical professional wanting to be involved with a diverse team and drive application solutions development. The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience.

Education

· A bachelor’s degree in Physics, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry and or Materials Science or equivalent experience

· Advanced degree is preferred.

Experience and Skills

· Typically requires 8+ years in a relevant technical environment.

· Extensive knowledge and experience with FIB/SEM systems and metrology applications for semiconductor customers.

· Excellent customer interfacing skills. Experience in customer facing role, preferably in semiconductor fab environment

· Proven track record in technical project management.

· Hands on experience in data analysis and coding using software like JMP, Matlab, Python to develop scripts for data analysis to lead projects during early engagement phase.

· Strong self-motivation, proven capability and flexibility to perform in high pressure and fast paced environment

· Excellent, hardworking, clear interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, with a diverse audience are essential to the success of this position.

· Detailed oriented with strong critical thinking, problem solving and accountability

· Ability to travel both domestically and internationally (up to 30%), possession of a valid passport.
