AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

The WW events lead is a new function in the global AWS Partner Organization (APO), standing up governance and strategy approach for APO-wide partner enablement events.

Key job responsibilities

Responsibilities include launching centralized event calendar, budget, and standardized approach for events not currently supported by the AWS Events and Partner Marketing teams. In parallel, they will be responsible for crafting the event strategy for global, signature partner events such as GPS and re:Invent, creation of a standardized evaluation framework for net new event requests, an APO event playbook for new & existing events, and overall budget management plan for all APO partner enablement events. This includes governance of all budget spend for events across APO and give a snapshot view to leadership on current and projected investments. This role will define the process for governance and identify all events under this scope.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience

  • 7+ years of professional or military experience

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as a founder or executive focused on related segments, or as a practice leader or business unit owner

  • Experience selling to Fortune 1000 or Global 2000 organizations
