Your Opportunity

Your role will include participating in regional business development activities and leading teams to prepare report submittals and coordinating cultural resources fieldwork for various programs for clients including: archaeological survey, testing, evaluation, and construction monitoring, report and section writing, as well as other tasks as assigned. Must demonstrate awareness for workplace safety; and be willing to work independently when conditions are appropriate or with limited supervision. You will work closely with Stantec's resource group leader to help with growth of the cultural resources program. This position will be based in our Bellevue Washington office.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Manage tasks and projects according to approved scopes of work, and deliver quality reports on schedule and within budget

  • Develop client relationship strategies to drive strong results in the client satisfaction.

  • Completing QA/QC on deliverables

  • Contribute to and lead business development activities, including proposals, pre-qualifications, and relationship building with clients and prospective clients

  • Interact and interface with clients and environmental regulators

  • Contract document preparation, including detailed design drawings and specifications, and project permitting

  • Construction contract administration and site inspection services

  • Participate in Health, Safety and Environment (HSSE) Policies, Procedures, Standards and Guidelines in the execution of all work

  • Provide supervision, training, technical direction and mentoring to more junior staff

  • Review work of junior staff

  • Applies technical and business knowledge and methods to develop creative, effective, and economical solutions to address current and potential project issues

  • Conduct peer reviews of routine and moderately complex work by colleagues or more junior practitioners

  • Provide oversight of project delivery, quality control, technical quality, documents quality, and best practices in the execution of work.

  • Participate in capture planning and marketing campaigns for larger opportunities.

  • Support developing and managing the BC M&BD plan including cross selling.

  • Increase visibility of the Stantec brand by sharing our knowledge and innovation story through key client engagements to enhance our reputation and drive revenue.

  • Participate in a Go/No Go Review process on new pursuits and help manage the marketing spend within the BC.

  • Partner with other leaders to drive collaboration on pursuits across geographies and business lines.

  • Responsible for utilizing and ensuring the opportunity pipeline is maintained and monitored to maintain a healthy backlog of future opportunities.

  • Actively participate including contribution to written content in major projects and serving in key roles such as Independent Technical Reviewers, as required.

  • Supports achieving utilization rate and backlog targets and partners with RGL to drive collaboration and work sharing across the practice.

  • Proactively identify opportunities to reinforce and further develop Stantec’s high-performance culture with a focus on innovation, speed, and productivity.

  • Provide support through ongoing collaboration with Business Operating Unit Operations, Regional Business Leaders, Regional Leaders, and BC Operating Leaders regarding resolution of operational issues identified within the BC.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Holding or qualified to hold permit for archaeological work in Washington and Oregon.

  • Skilled in communications and technical information exchange with clients, engineers and scientists, government regulators and agencies, and academia, as well as non-technical communication to the public

  • Proven track record of successful business development

  • Disciplined approach to project execution and technical excellence

  • Ability to provide written and verbal direction on project delivery

  • Shows leadership in striving to continuously improve technical performance

  • Ability to convey safety information to field staff

  • Experience with client based utilities systems such as MapGuide and Salesforce, amongst others

  • Drives collaborative efforts within the region and beyond to deliver consistent, high quality and appropriately scoped technical work

  • Ability to use field data collection equipment such as GPS, transit, and Total Station

  • At least eight years of experience successfully executing technical aspects of medium to complex projects

  • Good driving record and valid driver’s license required

Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree in Archaeology, or related field preferred.

  • Minimum 8 years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education (e.g., advanced degree) and experience.

  • Ability to travel

Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):

Salary Range(s):

  • $101,600 - $152,500 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in WA and DC

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.

Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).

Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
