Aerotek Machine Operator in Portland, Oregon

Machine Operator

Paying 20 / HR - 23 / HR

Location - Portland, OR

Responsibilities:

  • Operate a variety of machinery to fabricate component parts.

  • Perform set-ups and change-overs on equipment to close and complex tolerances and may include numerical control and/or robot programming.

  • Monitor output and proper operation of mechanical equipment. Makes mechanical and/or program adjustments to ensure parts are meeting quantity and quality requirements as necessary.

  • Conduct regular quality audits of parts produced by measuring and inspecting components to tight tolerances.

  • Knowledge and awareness to comply with all standard OSHA and State safety regulations and policies, RE: Lock Out Tag procedures for all types of equipment, proper handling of solvents and chemicals according to MSDS sheets, vision, hearing and respiratory protection, and proper lifting techniques as may be required within the scope of the job at hand. Mix chemical solutions.

  • Prepare recommendations to modify processes to improve productivity and quality.

  • Train operators in work area as needed.

Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of machine operating experience within a manufacturing environment

  • Experience performing set ups

  • GD&T experience is a plus!

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and production systems preferred.

  • Ability to effectively utilize basic shop math skills required.

  • Ability to use inspection and measuring devices including calipers, drop indicators, height gauges, micrometers, Keyence and CMM equipment preferred.

  • Basic blueprint reading, and computer skills required.

Environment/ Shift:

  • State of the art manufacturing facility with great company culture and environment.

  • Monday-Thursday 2:30pm-1am.

  • Monday - Thursday 4am - 2:30pm.
