Reports to: Refugee Services Program Supervisor

Location: SE Portland

Compensation: $19.77-$21.85/ hour

    Who You Are:

    This position is responsible for providing employment readiness support services to newly arriving refugees in the Refugee Services Program. This position will support the Match Grant program for refugees seeking self-sufficiency .

    What You Will Work On:

  • Maintains an active caseload of 15 to 20 cases.

  • Provide employment readiness services and job coaching.

  • Assess job skill and employment history of all enrolled clients.

  • Develop and provide a Workforce Expectation Orientation in collaboration with the Refugee Services Program Manager.

  • Act as a liaison between employers and clients.

    Education, Certifications, and Licensure Requirements/Preferences

  • Bachelor's Degree (4-Year Program) or equivalent lived and or worked experience.

    Experience Requirements/Preferences

  • 1-year prior experience with interviewing and hiring processes preferred.

  • 1-year experience providing case management support, information and referrals and advocacy strongly preferred.

  • Ability to communicate concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing English. Demonstrated fluency in a second language is preferred (especially with languages common in refugee populations such as Arabic, Amharic, Burmese, Farsi, Rohingya, Sango, Somali, Spanish, Swahili, Tigrinya, Ukraine and Zomi).

  • Must have knowledge of and experience with the US workforce.
