Summary

The Design Resource Manager is an internal-facing role that focuses on strategic resourcing of talent within Freeman’s Design department. The role is responsible for identifying, assigning and engaging with both internal and external talent in order to meet the needs, scope and timing of the projects. Additionally, the Design Resource Manager monitors the bandwidth of resources and collaborates with team leaders to resolve capacity issues and/or concerns.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for resource assignment of creative roles on small to large, complex, multi-phased projects.

  • Coordinates with the Design Production and Operations group including Associate Design Producers and Design Producers, Detail and Floor Plan leads to monitor the work schedule and bandwidth of resources at multiple locations.

  • Collaborates with the respective discipline (Floor Planning, Creative or Detailing) leaders to determine the correct resource for the assignment.

  • Responsible for balancing the flow of work among teams and disciplines on a national basis.

  • Works with team leaders to create project teams leveraging resources across the enterprise for specific high-level and/or unique scopes of work.

  • Responsible for administrative onboarding of contingent talent, negotiating rates and submitting paperwork to the appropriate internal and external groups.

  • Weekly meetings with team leaders to update Freeman’s project management and resourcing tool to ensure accurate reporting of capacity and identify available resources.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • 5 plus years’ experience in resourcing, coordination and/or project management within the design industry. Preferably in live/virtual events, brand experience, interior design and/or architecture.

  • Experience with various projects types, including live event, consumer marketing, web, virtual, video, brand, and strategic consulting.

  • Excellent problem solving and challenge resolution skills.

  • Diplomacy & tact in challenging situations and in dealing with many personality types and working styles.

  • Proven computer skills in all MS Office programs.

  • Expertise in Workfront is preferred, but not required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

AutoCAD Certified Professional preferred.
