The University of Southern Maine (file:///C:/Users/skwoodoldmac/Downloads/usm.maine.edu) is excited to announce a Project Coordinator opening with Maine Small Business Development Centers (Maine SBDC). Maine SBDC helps build and strengthen small businesses through no-cost business advising, training, and educational resources.

Maine SBDC provides high-quality, individualized business assistance through one-on-one business advising to Maine entrepreneurs and small businesses in all aspects of business management; conduct and/or organize information and training programs that build small firm capacity to operate, compete and thrive; navigate micro and small business access to capital; and aid access to information, technology, markets and research that assists business owners in the profitable operation of their business.

The Project Coordinator is a key member of the Maine SBDC team and is responsible for the Maine SBDC website and marketing communications to promote and maintain visibility of the SBDC program and its services. The Project Coordinator will work to target underserved communities in Maine which include non-White, Hispanic, Disabled, Veteran, Rural, and Women.

The position manages and promotes all aspects of statewide events. In addition to marketing-related activities, the Project Coordinator helps to support statewide programs and initiatives. This position must be well informed and keep up-to-date with local, state and national small business news and events.

This is a full-time, two-year grant funded position with an annual salary of $47,000 commensurate with experience. This position will be located in Portland, Maine and a hybrid work schedule is available.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years of professional experience.

  • High level of competence with Microsoft Office (word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software),

  • Excellent organizational, oral and written communication and interpersonal skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

  • Experience with graphic design, marketing, social media and online survey tools.

  • Demonstrated experience in meeting and event coordination.

License/Certifications:

  • Ability to provide own transportation (fully-insured vehicle), provide proof of a valid driver’s license, and compliance with Maine law regarding vehicle insurance.
