Rexel USA Product Specialist in Portland, Maine

The position of Product Specialist -- Industrial & Safety Products Sales Specialist will be based out of our Portland, ME location!

Summary

The Product Specialist is responsible for technical support and marketing, directly associated with Horizon’s Industrial and Safety Products and Services. Will coordinate and implement the outside sales and marketing efforts with the objective of increased sales, gross and net profit and exceptional customer service.

What You'll Do

  • Demonstrate commercial and technical acumen related to assigned technology segment(s). Subject Matter Expert of assigned technology segment(s)

  • Analyze and identify market and customer needs; design and sell solutions that maximize Horizon’s Industrial & Safety Product Offerings and Services.  Act as Horizon’s primary customer representative and liaison to initiate and develop mutually beneficial, long-term relationships with customers and potential customers.  

  • Develop and manage customer relationships directly, as well as indirectly, through Account Managers and support staff, with Industrial Products and Services specifications, product pricing and product availability. Manage and/or support contract negotiations and renewal, quotation process and financial/payment arrangements consistent with Horizon standards. 

  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of all of our key product lines, with a focus on abrasives, cutting tools, safety and general MRO with the desire and ability to apply knowledge to the customer’s manufacturing processes.   Introduce new products and tools, demonstrate features advantages and benefits and answer customer questions regarding product applications. 

  • Participate in product meetings, seminars, and training schools to enhance and maintain personal and product knowledge 

  • Assist branches and customers with product, technical support, and training 

  • May analyze market potential, develop an annual business plan based on market conditions, and lead execution with local technical, sales, and management team 

  • Other duties as assigned

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Engineering, Marketing, Business Administration/Mgmt. 

  • 4+ years of experience

  • An in-depth knowledge of Industrial & Safety products and product applications/solutions; product availability, channels to market, competitive products and competitors within the Industrial marketplace. 

  • A valid driver’s license.
