Summary of position:
We are an established motorcoach company looking for an experienced heavy-duty diesel mechanic for the Charter Bus industry. This candidate will work on a fleet of buses to provide preventive maintenance along with systems, electronic diagnostics, and repair along with maintain company vehicles according to STATE OF MAINE AND FEDERAL DOT standards as scheduled.
We strive to keep our maintenance department up to date on current techniques, by offering continuing education along with a generous tool reimbursement program.
Required Skills:
Must have or be willing to obtain a commercial Drivers License with a P endorsement.
Ability to pass a DOT physical, drug test and background check.
Ability to work independently and self-motivated.
In-depth knowledge of fleet maintenance policies and procedures.
Knowledge of basic computer function capabilities and ability to operate.
Ability to diagnose and understand HVAC systems is a plus.
Advanced electrical and advanced knowledge of electrical multiplex systems needed.
Must have a valid driver license and excellent driving record.
Ability to write and speak English.
Ability to communicate openly, professionally, and honest with drivers, along with other managers and staff.
Ability to make accurate repair decisions in fast paced environment.
Required experience:
Minimum 2 years fleet maintenance experience
Brake and AC certifications (willingness to obtain)
Education:
High school Diploma or GED
Associates degree (two college or technical school) preferred
