Pall Corporation of Port Washington, NY is seeking a creative and results-oriented Senior Scientist with a passion for fluoropolymer chemistry, surface modification and membrane science to join our R&D team. This is an outstanding career opportunity to take an active role in discovering and developing next-generation porous filters for biotechnology and medical applications.
You will join a hardworking, dedicated team of scientists and engineers passionate about innovations in polymer chemistry and surface modification through teamwork and continuous improvement. Our industry-leading position is built on innovative technologies and solutions that protect critical operating assets, improve product quality, safeguard health, and minimize emissions and waste.
Lead experiments in: Synthesis of small molecules and polymers, surface modification, surface characterization
Hands on experience with analytical instrumentation: XPS, SEM, TGA, DSC, GPC, X-Ray, FT-IR and NMR
Development of new chemistry platforms to address the need of contamination control for microelectronic application
Presentation of data to senior leadership
PhD in Chemistry, Polymer or Material Science with minimum 3 years of experience
Understanding and proficiency in materials research, testing, and process engineering of high temp fluoropolymer materials
Knowledge in fluoropolymers synthesis and characterization
Knowledge in fluoro-based proton-exchange membranes is highly valued
Knowledge and aptitude in the areas of polymer chemistry, polymer material science and polymer processing and characterization
Knowledge and expertise in surface modification of inorganic or organic substrates
Excellent data analytical skills
Experience with characterization techniques (GPC, DSC, DMA, TGA, SEM, AFM, FT-IR, UV, XPS, etc.) is highly desirable
Record of scientific achievements as evidenced through journal publications.
Experience with D.O.E., process optimization and scale-up is a plus
