Electrical & Instrumentation Maintenance Trainer

KBR’s Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) group is looking for an Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Maintenance Trainer to support the multi-billion-dollar Plaquemines project developing a Liquid Natural Gas export facility when fully developed will have an export capacity of up to 20 million metric tonnes per year. The facility’s location is about 20 miles south of New Orleans. This project is expected to be a multi-phase project spanning two years.

Aligning with KBR’s commitment to sustainability, the 630-acre site located on the Mississippi River provides deep-water access without the need for dredging, allowing for an expedited environmentally friendly development process.

This position is contingent upon having a current/valid TWIC card or having the ability to renew or obtain a TWIC card. The TWIC card must be kept current and maintained through employment.

The E&I Maintenance Trainer will develop and implement Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance training programs for the classroom and field for the assigned project. This role will also train and monitor client maintenance personnel during classroom and field (OJT) training. The E&I Maintenance Trainer will report to the project Training Superintendent.

Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

Responsibilities:

  • Implement and monitor classroom and On-the-Job (OJT) technical training programs for LNG projects

  • Use project-specific training materials, deliver classroom and field training to client electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance personnel

  • Work with project training management to sets classroom, shop, on-the-job (OJT) training, and qualification schedules

  • Work directly with client operations personnel to implement formal OJT leading to competency assessment

  • Coordinate OJT implementation and schedule with the client’s operations organization

  • Keep detailed records of all training by course, discipline, and individual

  • Recommend changes or enhancements to training programs consistent with contractual requirements

  • Deliver maintenance/operations training for petrochemical facilities during the LNG project cycle

  • Utilize training material to present specific project operations information, specifically on pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up, and initial operations

  • Incorporate all requirements of local, state, and federal regulations in the training program, including OSHA 1910.119 (PSM), LNG, DOT, and Homeland Security regulations

Experience & Skills:

  • Strong knowledge & proven ability training on electrical & instrumentation maintenance

  • Writing operating procedures and manuals

  • Ability to read and understand electrical & instrumentation diagrams

  • Knowledge and previous experience with Inspection and Test Plans (ITP) and Inspection Test Reports (ITR)

  • Proficiency issuing periodic progress reports for management follow-up

  • A wide degree of creativity is expected

Additional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field

  • 10 + years of directly related experience with an average experience of 15 + years

  • Previous experience delivering E&I Maintenance Training and Conducting assessment sessions

  • Intermediate to advanced level of proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, MS Project, Teams, and Word

  • In lieu of formal education 18 + years directly related experience with an average experience of 18 + years
