Building Coordinator

KBR’s Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) group is looking for a Building Coordinator to support the multi-billion-dollar Plaquemines project developing a Liquid Natural Gas export facility when fully developed will have an export capacity of up to 20 million metric tonnes per year. The facility’s location is about 20 miles south of New Orleans. This project is expected to be a multi-phase project spanning two years.

Aligning with KBR’s commitment to sustainability, the 630-acre site located on the Mississippi River provides deep-water access without the need for dredging, allowing for an expedited environmentally friendly development process.

This position is contingent upon having a current/valid TWIC card or having the ability to renew or obtain a TWIC card. The TWIC card must be kept current and maintained through employment.

The Building Coordinator will support the pre-commissioning and commissioning of all buildings on the project. This role will be responsible for ensuring that all building is fully operational and compliant with the required standards before handover to client. The Building Coordinator will report to the Building Superintendent.

Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

Must have willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the management of pre-commissioning and commissioning of all buildings, including HVAC systems, fire and gas protection systems, water treatment facilities, and all associated equipment

  • Ensure that all rooms are properly furnished and operational, and that testing procedures are prepared and issued for approval

  • Identify the resources required for tests, including manpower and materials, and establish priorities

  • Make certain that Co-Console record sheets are properly used, and that the appropriate representatives sign off on all necessary documents

  • Participate in regular progress and coordination meetings

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the buildings and associated equipment until handover

  • Oversee the testing, checking, and clearing of punch lists activities in a timely manner

  • Liaise with the Commissioning Representative as required

  • Ensure the handover of the buildings to the client is completed on time and to the required standard

Experience & Skills:

  • Understanding of HVAC systems, fire and gas protection systems, water treatment facilities, and associated equipment

  • Proficient with Co-Console record sheets and testing procedures

  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and meet tight deadlines

  • Proven ability as a Building Supervisor or similar role

  • Strong knowledge and experience with pre-commissioning and commissioning of buildings

  • Ability to work collaboratively with different teams with strong leadership and communication skills

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, strong organizational/planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Additional Qualifications:

  • In lieu of formal education 12 years of related experience

  • Or bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field and 4 + years of related experience

  • Previous experience as a building coordinator, supervisor, or similar role in pre-commissioning and commissioning of buildings
