Thompson Pump and Manufacturing Co., Inc. LOGISTICS COORDINATOR in Port Orange, Florida

Summary: The Shipping Coordinator I is responsible for facilitating communication between Sales, Production, Quality and the Materials Department for the set-up, rate negotiation, tracking and on-time shipment of pumps to customers. This position is also responsible for performing daily inventory cycle counts and to track and monitor inventory within the TPM and WHS warehouses.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Champion the logistics process, foreign and domestic, for TPM pump shipments and ensure all related data entry and paperwork is processed accurately and timely.

  • Negotiate with carriers to obtain the best freight rate for inbound and outbound shipments.

  • Provide accurate shipment dimensions and weights and record all pertinent shipment information as necessary in Navision and Salesforce. Update the shipment notes on the Production Schedule.

  • Communicate with multiple departments to ensure customer objectives are met as they pertain to transportation decisions.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with shipping and freight-forwarding provider contacts, in order to expedite domestic and international shipment of pumps.

  • Communicate and coordinate with supervisors, customers, and senior management regarding the effects of transportation decisions on the corporation.

  • Perform daily cycle counts as assigned by the Warehouse Manager.

  • Understand the inventory flow process as it pertains to the corporate headquarters.

  • Monitor and control inventory integrity and report all non-conforming, aging and/or damaged product.

  • Maintain all labeling requirements including product identification labels, location labels and overflow tags.

  • Research all inventory discrepancies and work with the Warehouse Manager to resolve the discrepancies in a timely manner.

  • Communicate and coordinate with all Warehouse personnel to relocate material as necessary for efficiency of pulling or appropriate bin size.

  • Produce and analyze over/under reports for presentation to the Materials Management team.

  • Coordinate and Integrate efforts across all operational departments to enhance inventory accuracy.

  • Requires climbing, bending, stooping, and reaching.

  • Must possess good communication skills verbal, in writing, and in English.

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite, particularly Word, Outlook, and Excel.

  • Basic Communication Skills

  • Computer proficient with word-processing, spreadsheets, and data entry required.

  • Knowledge of DOT Regulations.

  • General Knowledge of TPM products, equipment and services.

  • Knowledge of freight regulations foreign, domestic and shipping terms (FOB, Bill of Lading, etc.).

  • Basic knowledge of eShipping and UPS WorldShip shipping software preferred

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required.

  • Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, detailed correspondence and memos.

  • Ability to write detailed correspondence.

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, vendors and other employees of the organization.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

  • Must be able to interpret graphs and other visual representations used to present data.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Must be able to read and understand various service manuals, electrical diagrams, and troubleshooting guides.

  • Must be able to read and understand the Thompson Pump & Manufacturing Co., Inc. Employee Handbook, safety plans/programs, safety training materials and SDS sheets.
