JOB SUMMARY:

This position plays an important role in maintaining and repairing our equipment to ensure safe operation. This includes installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and components. The Industrial Electrician is a knowledgeable, hardworking and skilled individual.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for using safety devices and protective equipment and for using safe work practices and methods in the operation of all tools and equipment necessary to complete tasks.

  • Maintain, install, troubleshoot and repair electrical/electromechanical component systems for concrete masonry plant equipment for safe and efficient operations.

  • Have the ability to read blueprints and schematics.

  • Safely operate motor vehicles and other mobile equipment including man lift, forklift, and others as become necessary in the course of plant repair/maintenance.

  • Plan work in an effective manner, and keep accurate records of work performed and materials used.

  • Responsible for correcting and/or reporting any conditions that may be hazardous to employees, contractors etc.

  • Willing to work outside in all types of weather.

  • Quickly assess issues during breakdowns and communicates with equipment operators and then applies troubleshooting, diagnostic and knowledge to repair equipment in an efficient manner to reduce downtime.

  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 3-5 years of experience as an industrial electrician.

  • Thorough knowledge of the principles of electricity and of electrical/electromechanical maintenance methods.

  • Knowledge of the rules of safety, especially as they relate to electrical work and standard LOTO procedures.

  • Skill in the application of methods used in the trade; use of hand tools, testing equipment, and the safe installation of new and replacement parts.

  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, technical manuals, and to implement that knowledge in safe work practices.

  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills.

  • Basic PLC experience.

  • Ability to respond to emergency calls after normal working hours.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Perform all work in accordance with YBP Safety policies.

  • The work is performed outdoors and/or indoors, enduring heat, cold, rain, dust, wind, and other elements.

  • Capable of operating various types of heavy equipment and/or machinery.

PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES:

  • Ability to work at heights on aerial lifts, stepladders and/or extension ladders.

  • Ability to work in confined spaces.

  • Physical demands include but are not limited to walking, sitting, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 90 pounds.
