Quality Engineer
Position Purpose
This position is responsible for the coordination of planning, execution, operation and maintenance of quality system procedures and standards for the JCB North America manufacturing facility. This individual will drive and have ownership of identifying opportunities for product and process improvement and lead quality improvement activities with cross functional teams.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
- Establish quality standards that address tightening, fits, finish, functional testing, visual, etc. for all products produced in the manufacturing processes.
- Create, set up and audit manufacturing processes and changes to ensure conformance with process control procedures, quality standards and engineering specifications
- Develop process for on and offline inspections
- Create and implement necessary changes to ensure quality standards are met
- Provide training to ensure that proper procedures are followed
- Ensure system conform to applicable ISO 9000 standards
- Responsible for after market testing and warranty data
- Routinely offer suggestions to improve quality through design based on all of the above
- Create process improvement communication channels across the manufacturing functions
- Champion continuous process improvement amongst teams and its team members
- Proactively assist the organization in meeting its objectives
Nature and Scope
Reports to Quality Manager
Minimum Qualifications
- Must pass any drug screens, background checks and any pre-employments tests as applicable.
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or similar from an accredited college or university
- 3+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment
- 5S lean manufacturing and six sigma certified
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in engineering or related field
- 5+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment in a related industry
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and SAP
- Highly motivated self starter
- Strong analytical skills with a practical balance of shop floor experience

- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment as required
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to work flexible schedule, overtime as needed
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10lbs, frequently and/or move up to 35lbs, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50lbs.
- Must be able to perform continuous, repetitious physical activities. These activities may involve fine movements or large motions.
- Must be able to grasp/pinch small items, reach out and up, and turn wrist.
- Must be capable of keeping pace with current production speed.
- Must be able to push/pull with reasonable force.
- Must be able to perform the following requirements of bending, stooping, climbing, kneeling, and standing for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to work in multiple climates including hot/cold temperatures, and dusty environment.
