Goodwill Southeast Georgia INVENTORY SPECIALIST ECOMM in Pooler, Georgia
POSITION OVERVIEW:
As a direct report to Manager, New Goods and Online Retail Operations, the Inventory Specialist will assist with the inventory management and distribution of new and donated merchandise. The Inventory Specialist associate will be responsible for receiving shipments, packing goods for distribution, and warehouse inventory management duties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Moves merchandise to various locations inside the warehouse under the direction of Manager, NGORO.
Stages product and loads and unloads trucks.
Communicates with transportation department as needed.
Transports gaylords, uprights, bins, pallets, boxes, etc. to appropriate areas.
Sorts, packs, wraps, and transports donated goods.
Sorts, prices, packs, wraps, and transports new goods.
Documents received shipments in a timely and accurate manner and forwards required documentation to appropriate personnel.
Enters new goods data into POS system.
Maintains inventory totals of new and donated goods.
Assists with inventory counts as directed.
Assists in ecommerce department as directed.
Operates material handling equipment such as pallet jack, hand truck, etc.
Operates forklift and stacker as needed.
Ensures donated and new goods are always secured and protected from misuse.
Appropriately disposes of unsalable or unrecyclable items and trash.
Maintains work area and warehouse in an organized and clean manner.
Adheres to all safety procedures and wears all safety equipment that is required for the specific task.
Follows all safety, asset protection, and employee policies.
Attends and participates in regularly scheduled staff meetings.
Assists where needed in the warehouse and ecommerce department as requested by Manager, NGORO.
Appropriately disposes of unsalable or unrecyclable items and trash.
Accomplishes retail and organization mission by completing related assignments as requested by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
High School graduate/ GED or any job-related experience that will provide the necessary knowledge, skill, and abilities to be able to perform the essential functions of the position.
Ability to operate hand trucks pallet jack, hand truck, stacker, and forklift.
Forklift certification required. (Equipment training and certification are provided).
Ability to work independently throughout the day.
Ability to work quickly to complete tasks.
Basic skills in entering and managing data accurately.
Good interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to quickly assess goods and determine appropriate routing.
Ability to work a flexible schedule. Available to work nights and weekends as needed.
