JLL Maintenance Mechanic Electrical in Pontiac, Michigan

Maintenance Electrician (2nd or 3rd shift)

Job Summary/Responsibilities: Perform mid-level work in the repair and maintenance of facilities and may lead others in related work as required. Experienced Electrician will provide electrical services with specific responsibility for identifying repair and/or replacement needs; installing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading electrical equipment; assisting other skilled trades. Incumbents independently perform a broad spectrum of facilities and systems maintenance functions or may serve as a back-up to other craft workers on complex assignments. Requires the ability to analyze the operation of various systems, determine the cause of any problems/malfunctions and take corrective action as required. Assist with the installation and repair piping/tubing; wire single and three phase motors (single & two speed); run conduit; pull wiring to machinery, motors, operating parts, etc. Install and rebuild pumps and motors; install and rebuild air compressors; heat exchangers; replace bearings in all types of motors; replace seals on pumps; install and repair piping, valves, filters, hot water systems and associated controls; assist other mechanics and operators with major repairs and maintenance of building and equipment. Checks, repairs and/or replaces valves, motors, controls, switches, gauges, wiring, fans, pumps, compressors, condensers, cores, pipes and other functional components of the system. Low Voltage experience a plus. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Documents all work in the CMMS system. Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures. Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner. Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments. Applies all applicable OSHA and related local safety requirements to all assigned work. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Attends training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Shared Responsibilities: Maintains appropriate service repair work order records electronically. Researches and inventories equipment parts and supplies. Responds to routine and emergency calls for repairs and service. May assist in the training of other team members in facilities maintenance. Assists and serves as back-up to other Facilities employees. Ability to operate and use a broad spectrum of tools and equipment skillfully and safely perform heavy physical labor; read and comprehend plans and blueprints. Some knowledge of standard practices and procedures of construction trades such as electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, painting and mechanical systems, including materials and tools; applicable code requirements; methods and practices followed in the maintenance of tools, machinery, and equipment; safety precautions to be observed in the maintenance and installation of electronic and mechanical equipment.

Qualifications High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Valid state driver's license in good standing. 2 years minimum trade experience (trade license preferred). Superior customer service skills and orientation. Ability to maintain professionalism always and under stressful situations. Ability to multi-task and work without direction supervision. Attention to detail a must CMMS and/or data base experience a plus. Ability to plan and manage work under time constraints. Strong organizational skills and collaborative style needed. Available for call-in work and perform other duties as required.
