Eaton Corporation Sr Engineer - EHS in Pondicherry, India

What you’ll do:

Ensures plant level EHS Training programs, EHS, EMS policies, procedures and systems are developed, implemented and sustained to ensure compliance with local and country regulatory requirements and conformance with Eaton Corporation mandates. Helps to drive overall plant MESH management program successes through employee support and engagement.

1)Reviews, evaluate, and analyze work environments, and design training programs to prevent work related injury or disease through conduct of inspections and enforcement of adherence to laws and regulations governing the health and safety of individuals

2) Ensures required employee EHSl training is completed on-time and documented.

3) Drives ISO 14001, EMS System and facilitates the plant MESH implementation and sustainment to meet or exceed corporate requirements.

4) Prepares and submits all required environmental permit applications/renewals and routine agency reports

5) Manages all plant waste disposal , Wastewater treatment / Air management activity to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and Eaton MESH

6) Maintains plant emergency response plans and ensures drills are performed to document plan effectiveness.

7) Maintain plant environmental permits and ensures terms and conditions are understood and complied with, ensures required documentation is maintained and required regulatory reports are submitted to the respective agency.

8) Ensures on time completion of regulatory / competent person inspections and examinations for all applicable equipments.

9) Evaluates proposed projects and proposed new chemicals and ensures plans are in-place and implemented to address EHS compliance issues

10) Management Risk assessments- Site Level risk assessments, WorkStation Risk assessment, MoCs and all applicable Work permit systems including General, Hotwork, height work, confined space, electrical, move plan, in compliance with MESH & regulatory requirements.

11) Supports Element Champions for implementation of MESH requirements including regulatory requirements and for MESH assessments.

12) Plant level PPE management and vendor management for EHS services

13) Reports in MESH PRISM for all reporting requirements and tracking of action closure and compliance calendar in Eaton Reporting system.

14) Supports by investigating EHS incidents/accidents to determine root causes and prepares and implements corrective action plans

15) Participates monthly Lesson learnt session to drive sharing of lessons learnt and best practice sharing.

16) Manages relationships with suppliers, contractors and service providers including 3rd party competent person.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from an accredited institution

Minimum 5 years’ experience in the environmental, occupational health and safety field.

Skills:

Required ISO14001, and OHSAS 45001 and NEBOSH are added advantage

MS Office, PPT, MS Word,Good Interpersonal and communication Skill
