Job Responsibilities:

• Observes mechanical devices, equipment, and machinery in operation and listens to their sounds to diagnose machine malfunction and determine need for adjustment, repair, or replacement.

• Studies blueprints, sketches, machine parts, or specifications.

• Dismantles machinery or equipment to gain access to and remove defective parts.

• Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.

• Adjusts functional parts or devices and control instruments.

• Repairs or replaces defective parts.

• Coordinates with manager and assists with production operator’s timely preventative maintenance and predictive parts replacement and repair.

• Sets up and operates drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.

• Repairs electrical equipment or replaces faulty wiring, switches, or relays, as qualified to perform.
