WSP USA Final Estimates Specialist in Pompano Beach, Florida

This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Final Estimates Specialist for the Final Estimates Construction Department located in the FDOT Turnpike Pompano Operations Center . Your Impact:

Duties

  • Reviews Final Estimates construction documentation after project final acceptance for completeness and accuracy and ensures conformance with FDOT contract documents and specifications. This includes but is not limited to pay items related to Asphalt, Maintenance of Traffic, Striping, Earthwork, Bridges, Drainage, etc.

  • Performs Quality Control reviews of the construction quantity and cost documents in accordance with FDOT processes and procedures on active construction projects managed by the Consultant Engineering and Inspection (CEI) field personnel.

  • Prepares Quality Control and Post Audit Review reports on FDOT prepared forms detailing errors and omissions in accordance with FDOT manuals and procedures and enters findings into the FDOT Final Estimates Status application.

  • Determines that all calculations and field measurements for pay quantities are accurate and are substantiated by field records.

  • Processes pay estimates through the FDOT PrC application as needed, to pay the contractor the final settlement amount.

  • Attributes project closeout documentation in FDOT’s ProjectSolve SharePoint application.

  • Facilitate Final Estimates meetings as needed with CEI personnel to discuss final estimates related requirements prior to beginning of construction and after Quality Control Reviews to discuss any findings.

Who You Are

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • 7 years of construction related experience on FDOT projects ranging from $1M to $300M in value.

  • This position requires a certification in Final Estimates Level I and Level II through the FDOT Construction Training Qualification Program (CTQP). Must obtain within six (6) months after hire and maintain thereafter.

  • Knowledge of FDOT Construction Project Administration Manual policies and procedures preferred.

  • Knowledge of FDOT construction and engineering concepts and terminology.

  • Ability to analyze and interpret FDOT Construction Plans, Specifications, Manuals, and Contract Documents.

  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

  • Ability to use a personal computer and become proficient with FDOT Systems/Programs (PrC, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, ProjectSolve SharePoint, PowerBI, CIM, MAC, EDMS)
