Contracting Team Lead, Sr. Manager – Procurement
Location: Hybrid (Mexico City, Lomas de Chapultepec)
Job Description: As a Contracting Senior Manager, you will lead a team of procurement professionals that are responsible for developing negotiation plans and conducting negotiations to drive favorable outcomes for indirect procurement categories such as financial services, people services, consulting, travel, facilities, and other business services. You will collaborate with global category managers and business stakeholders, help manage supplier relationships, and drive process improvements to achieve cost savings and operational efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities:
Contracting Execution: Perform contracting activities for large, complex sourcing initiatives in alignment with global indirect category strategies, to include: establishing sourcing approach, creation of RFP documents, negotiation plan development, and conducting negotiations with suppliers to achieve favorable outcomes.
Present outcomes of RFPs and negotiations to senior management and stakeholders, outlining results achieved and recommended options to support the decision making process.
Supplier Management: Help manage and optimize supplier relationships to drive incremental value and ensure compliance with terms and conditions.
Provide formal supervision to employees. Coordinate and manage the team's daily activities. Monitor the training and development of staff. Conduct performance evaluations and coaching. Set and track staff and department deadlines. Mentor and coach as needed.
Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs, then translate into actionable sourcing plans in alignment with category strategies.
Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Reporting: Prepare and present reports on contracting performance, procurement activities, and cost savings to senior management.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on indirect procurement categories (IT, financial services, people services, consulting, travel, facilities, and other business services) and experience in a multinational company.
Relationship Management: Ability to build collaborative relationships with global category manager, key internal stakeholders and suppliers.
Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute contracting strategies to support and achieve long-term category strategy objectives.
Process Improvement: Demonstrated experience in implementing process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with procurement systems such as Zycus and Coupa, Excel, and Power BI.
Leadership Skills: Ability to motivate the team to achieve broad operational targets with impacts on own job discipline, multiple job disciplines, and department.
Skills: Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
Communication Skills: Advanced English proficiency, excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Hybrid Position: Ability to work in a hybrid environment, combining remote and on-site work.
