JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Relief Operator works multiple positions in the Cheese Manufacturing operation. This person will be qualified to relieve four other roles within the Cheese Manufacturing area. the following positions in the Cheese Manufacturing area: Table Operator, Packaging Operator, Food Sanitation Team Member. Table Operator: Monitors and tests curd and whey removal while operating table equipment using an HMI. Measures salt distribution to tables of product. Troubleshoots, organizes, and anticipates needs of the table area and operation. Packaging Operator: Operates and monitors block forming tower system and vacuum and temperature levels for cheese block integrity. Records and inputs data for accuracy. Seal, package, and weigh boxes and palletization of 40lb blocks of cheese. Operates a pallet lift truck. Packing and Shipping Operator: Uses scanners to track cheese through bar codes, complete work orders, build and ship loads of cheese, creates by product work orders and moves inventory. Monitors supply inventory and inputs orders as needed. Performs pallet truck, elevator, and trailer inspections. Sanitation: Performs sanitation in all areas of the plant primarily focused on the cheese operation side of the plant. Operates foaming and sanitizing chemical stations. Works with bulk and point of use raw chemicals. Responsible for proper chemical titration to maintain costs while maintaining cleaning effectiveness. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Food manufacturing or sanitation experience, highly desirable. Cheese manufacturing, preferred. Demonstrate monitoring skills to control operations of equipment or systems and watch gauges and other indicators to ensure proper function. Good computer skills with proficiency in manufacturing operating systems. Basic math skills including using units of weight measurement and counts. Ability to communicate information and ideas effectively and in a way that other Team Members will understand. Ability to read and comprehend work related documents, carry out work instructions and interpret charts and graphs. While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to stand, reach with hands and arms, walk, talk, and hear. The Team Member must frequently lift and/or move 40 lb. blocks of cheese. The Team Member may also carry chemical containers weighing up to 65 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Team Member is often exposed to high, non-weather-related heat, wet and/or humid conditions. Furthermore, the Team Member is often exposed to moving mechanical parts due to their work in packaging, sanitation and table operation. The Team Member is occasionally exposed to toxic and/or caustic chemicals used in production and cleaning.
