Position: Senior Manager of PMO – New Product Development

Type: Direct Hire

Salary Range: $185K-$200K + Bonus

Industry: Regulated (Medical Device preferred)

SUMMARY

Kelly Engineering is seeking a qualified Senior Manager of PMO for a direct hire role with our client in Plymouth, MN. In this position, you will lead new product development within a global organization of 30-40 people. This role requires deep expertise in regulated industries (preferably medical devices) and strong leadership experience in cross-functional, multinational projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with Product Management, Sales, Quality, Manufacturing, Finance, and other functions across the company to ensure projects meet financial, schedule and customer expectations

  • Define and create project schedules, portfolio management, communication and execution of programs, identifying resource constraints and working with management for resolutions.

  • Oversee 15-20 product launches per year, contributing to $100M in new product development

  • Design and develop manufacturing process and automation platforms and apply them for the realization of new product developments as well as optimization of existing products already in production

  • Manage global programs with $10M+ product launches annually

  • Lead teams across North America, Asia, and the UK

  • Drive effective communication and collaboration across all levels

  • Analyze project requirements and develop comprehensive manufacturing plans, including process flow, equipment needs, and resource allocation.

  • Develop comprehensive capital business cases aligned with organizational objectives and delivering compelling presentations to management.

  • Lead and manage manufacturing engineering projects from concept to completion, including scope definition, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.

  • Oversee the implementation of new manufacturing processes, including training of production staff.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, production, quality, procurement, etc.) to ensure alignment and seamless project execution.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and efficiency enhancements within manufacturing.

  • Monitor production progress against project timelines and identify potential issues proactively

  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including plans, progress reports, risk assessments, and performance metrics.

  • Utilize lean manufacturing principles and tools to optimize workflows and reduce waste.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and safety requirements.

  • Foster effective communication with stakeholders, including internal teams, vendors, and clients.

  • Conduct post-project evaluations to identify successes, lessons learned, and areas for improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience working within Manufacturing Engineering and Project Management discipline or environment.

  • Experience managing global teams and international projects

  • Demonstrated success in project management within a manufacturing environment, delivering measurable results

  • Background in businesses under $1B in revenue, launching $50M in revenue annually

  • Strong people leadership skills with the ability to communicate in all directions

  • Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience working in a low volume, high mix environment is preferred.

  • Experience with military/aerospace products is a plus.

  • Demonstrated ability to work within a cross-functional team.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate across all levels within and outside of the organization.

  • Capable of working in a fast-paced, dynamic global environment with multiple changing priorities.

  • Proficient in MS Office Software such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Knowledge in statistical software packages such as JMP and Minitab desirable but not required
