The Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources mission is to cultivate a robust and equitable agricultural economy, promote a safe and resilient food system, and preserve a healthy environment for Massachusetts farmers, animals, and consumers. The Massachusetts State Reclamation and Mosquito Control Board (SRB),within the Department of Agricultural Resources, oversees mosquito control in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts including 12 regional programs. SRB establishes administrative and technical policies, guidelines, and best management practices to ensure mosquito control programs are safe and effective. _Job Opening: _ The Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources seeks applicants for a Seasonal Office Assistant (seasonal contract position) to perform the following duties: A cover letter referencing the correct position must be submitted as part of the application process and attached “as relevant” to the requisition. * * General Statement of Duties and Responsibilities: The primary of purpose of this position is to assist with administrative duties during the peak mosquito control season. Responsibilities include: * * Answer the telephone and log requests for service. * Maintain database of requests. * Distribute information/service requests to field technicians each day. * Notify local authorities of areas to be treated on a regular basis. * Maintain files. * * *Period of Employment:May 5, 2025 – September 6, 2025; depending on the need and funding, possible employment may be available in September. Work Hours: *6:30 AM - 3:00 PM * MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: Preferred Qualifications: * *Strong computer skills and experience working with Microsoft Office 365 (Word/Excel/Access). * Strong customer service skills. * Effective communication skills. * Ability to work in a busy office environment.
