Pleasantville Community School District seeks to fill the following anticipated vacancy for the 2024-2025 school year. Middle School Counselor for grades 5-8 An endorsement in Professional School Counselor 5-12 or the ability to obtain licensure is required. The ideal candidate for this position will have the ability to: connect with students and build relationships based on trust and confidentiality; communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues; create a master schedule for middle school in collaboration with the high school counselor and set up individual student schedules; develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum and instruction for grades 5-8; work one-on-one with students on issues such as mental health, relationships, educational planning, etc. Pleasantville Community School District is a flourishing school community located in Pleasantville, in Marion County. Pleasantville provides the feel of a small town but offers convenient access to the Des Moines metro and the recreational amenities of Lake Red Rock.
