Principal Applications Engineer:

Fusion HCM Cloud, which is at the heart of the enterprise SaaS Applications, is the most comprehensive, integrated, and scalable HCM solutions available and revolutionises how HCM users interact with data and make decisions.

Our rapidly growing development team is building world class Enterprise HCM SaaS application products. This is a unique opportunity to join an elite engineering team focused on the development of HCM Central Components. This is an exciting venture in Oracle with the opportunity to work with a talented global engineering community. The new hire coming on-board will share ideas and knowledge around how to best develop, deploy and support these innovative product components which will be used in implementing complex features in Fusion HCM SaaS Applications. As a team member you will be part of most innovative HCM Central Component team.

As a Principal Applications Engineer in the team, you will need to:

  • Work with geographically dispersed team of world-class engineers in a start-up by taking complete ownership and accountability to see the project through for completion.

  • Collaborate with product strategy/owners and other stakeholders in understanding the requirements and work on delivering user stories/backlog items with highest levels of quality and consistency across the product.

  • Be agile, self-driven and comfortable driving forward even when some aspects of a project are not fully known.

  • Showcase ability to drive transformational changes in a highly technical and dynamic environment.

  • Exhibit expert knowledge in performance, building large-scale enterprise applications, system architecture, and engineering best practices.

  • Develop ultra-scalable, highly reliable diagnostic instrumentation and supportability features that include fault-tolerance, telemetry, and automatic recovery in error scenarios

  • Have a passion to discover the true technical/operational requirements associated to the new feature requests that demonstrates exceptional customer relationship skills; provide alternate technical and functional approaches to meet the strong customer commitment timelines with the best possible solution.

  • Be a leader and provide design suggestions to the most complex problems faced by the team by sharing your deep software engineering knowledge and experience.

  • Should be able balance technical leadership and strong business judgment to make the right decisions be it on the technology or in designing the application.

To be successful as a Principal Applications Engineer, you should have the following skills:

  • Strong technical knowledge of Oracle VBCS/ Oracle JET, JavaScript frameworks, HTML, XML, SOAP and REST Web services.

  • Familiarity with Microservices and frameworks like Spring Boot or Helidon.

  • Strong analytical and debugging/problem solving skills.

  • Expertise in performance tuning approaches in Java/SQL or in related technologies.

  • Experience in Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery principles in the world of cloud-based web applications.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical content to both technical and non-technical peers, customers and at times to executive leadership.

  • Able to operate in a very fast paced environment where time to hit market is super critical.

Having these additional skills will be an added advantage (though not mandatory):

  • Working knowledge on Oracle Fusion Cloud applications - HCM

  • Hands on experience in VBCS/JET

  • Knowledge in scripting languages – Groovy/Python

  • Proficiency in design patterns

  • Exposure to AI/ML

  • Familiarity with Cloud Native Databases.

You should possess a minimum experience of 6-8 years in your software development career.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range: from $76,100 to $223,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
