    Currently we are hiring for the following position:

    Title: Maintenance Technician I Location: PlattevilleShift: 3rd Shift

    Hours: 9PM – 5AM

    Maintenance Technician I performs a variety of advanced activities to maintain plant equipment and facilities in optimum operating condition following established procedures and receiving direction from the Maintenance Supervisor. These activities include electrical, plumbing, fixtures, doors, HVAC, and preventative maintenance. The Maintenance Tech II strives to meet all internal customers’ needs while maintaining a high level of safety and quality within budget.

    Maintenance Technician I Duties Include:

  • Maintain full proficiency in all department areas and designated area of specialization (ex. PLC/Electrical)

  • Stay up to date on current maintenance and mechanical repair technologies

  • Leads machine tool repairs, rebuilds, and other maintenance work to insure quality of maintenance operations

  • Leads special maintenance or repair projects as assigned

  • Leads small group improvement activities and takes responsibility for team assignments

  • Coordinates with contractors and external resources as assigned

  • Provide technical leadership and one-on-one training for Maintenance Apprentices and Maintenance Technician I

  • Backup for Maintenance Supervisor during absences

  • Maintain and repair plant and facility equipment of a mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic nature

  • Partners with production personnel to fully understand technical situations and best options to pursue

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment

  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments

  • Clean and maintain grounds, parking lots, fencing, building facilities, and vehicles

  • Uses, creates or completes required documentation supporting scheduled or completed work

  • Complete work orders, records, logs and other written or computer-based documents

  • Operate material handling equipment, battery equipment, moving machinery, and other powered equipment

  • Troubleshoot complex problems with equipment where the repair is not immediately visible or obvious

  • Must learn, follow, and actively enforce Lock Out Tag Out procedures

  • Attend staff and department meetings

  • May be required to work overtime if deemed necessary with occasional weekend and call-in work

  • Performs all other duties as assigned

  • Report any and all injuries to your supervisor or manager at the time of injury.

  • Complete all required training in a timely manner

  • Adhere to ERU food safety policies and all government food safety and sanitation regulations (ex. FDA, HACCP, GMP, OSHA)

    Maintenance Technician II Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Valid driver’s license and insurance

  • Forklift, scissors, and aerial lift license

  • 5 years’ experience in maintenance or mechanics

  • Waste water experience is ideal

  • Proficiency in Machinist training, Welding, Fabrication, Piping, PLC, and Electrical

  • Course work with satisfactory grades or certification in machine shop, welding, fabrication, piping, PLC, and electrical

  • If a current employee, refer to the training matrix

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers

  • Intermediate computer skills including e-mail, word processing, and spreadsheets

  • Strong electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and blue print reading skills

  • Strong technical understanding, equipment maintenance, power tool, and welding skills

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work with automated equipment and power equipment

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize under pressure

  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams

  • History of good attendance

  • Good organization and problem-solving skills

  • Detail-oriented nature

  • Ability to work with moderate supervision

  • Moderate travel required
