Position Specific Description

The Cloud and Infrastructure Intern assists with ensuring our public and private clouds are cost-optimized, reliable, and secure. This position involves projects that support our strategic planning and program management for infrastructure lifecycle, capacity, cloud costs, and supplier management.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with development of 5+ year infrastructure lifecycle and capacity plan

  • Assists with development of cloud cost forecast

  • Assists with development of business cases project definitions to address lifecycle and capacity needs

  • Assists with monthly executive reports on state of infrastructure lifecycle, projects, and risks

  • Assists withmonthly executive reports on cloud cost compared to forecast, discount program status, cost optimization performance, and other key metrics

  • Assists with cloud cost billing to internal teams and applications

Essential experience

  • Pursuing degree in computer science related field or equivalent experience

  • Knowledge of designing, engineering, or leading IT infrastructure services

  • Interest in planning strategic projects, budgets, financial forecasting, and data analysis

  • Ability to design, engineer, or support the use of public cloud services

  • Business acumen, planning, and organizational skill

  • Analytical thinking and data analysis using tools such as spreadsheets

  • Excellent interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation

  • Critical thinking, problem solving, motivating others, and relationship building

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Job Overview

To be considered for an internship, you must be actively enrolled at a college or university as a full-time student seeking a bachelor’s degree or higher. You must also have a current cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher (on a 0.00 to 4.00 scale).

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists department with assigned projects

  • Completes challenging projects and assignments

  • Presents final project to senior leadership at the end of the internship

  • Assumes responsibility for own travel, lodging, and transportation necessary to be available for the program

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High school grad / GED

  • Maintain active enrollment in a Bachelor or higher degree program

  • Maintain cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
