JPMorgan Chase Security Engineer III - Network in Plano, Texas

As a Security Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Cyber and Tech Controls line of business, you are part of an agile team that works to deliver software solutions that satisfy pre-defined functional and user requirements with the added dimension of preventing misuse, circumvention, and malicious behavior. As an emerging member of the security engineering team, you execute basic software solutions through the design, development, and troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical area, while gaining skills and experience to grow within your role.

Job responsibilities

  • Perform deployment, configuration, testing, and integration tasks as per defined engineering stories, and support product operations.

  • Develop and implement new Cloud Security Strategies, championing a DevOps security model to ensure automated and elastic security across all platforms.

  • Support secure Cloud adoption by working hands-on with development teams to foster a Cloud-first mindset in transitioning workloads.

  • Develop and improve the quality of technical engineering documentation and drive the maturity of the Cybersecurity software development lifecycle.

  • Make strategic decisions by analyzing complex data systems and incorporating knowledge of other lines of business and JPMC standards.

  • To understand Line of Business (LOB) technology drivers and their impact on architecture design, performance, monitoring, best practices, and JPMC policies.

  • Ensure all engineering activities conform to JPMC policies and objectives.

  • Leverage DevOps tools to build, harden, maintain, and instrument a comprehensive Cloud-based security orchestration platform, developing automated security and compliance capabilities in support of DevOps processes in a large-scale Cloud computing environment.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on security engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience

  • Public/Private Cloud experience in mission-critical environments, including analyzing complex data systems, failure analysis/root cause analysis, and maintaining technical engineering documentation.

  • Proficient in coding with Python and experienced in designing and deploying solutions using Terraform.

  • Strong ability to create and adjust new/existing application designs to solve problems, with a solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.

  • Experience creating and handling CI/CD pipelines, application resiliency, and security.

  • Experience with AWS services, including server-less solutions, VPC, routes53, Autoscaling, Transit gateway, VPC, EC2, Lambdas, API Gateway, Step Functions, secrets manager and storage services.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Knowledge on F5 is a plus.
