Who we’re looking for

Toyota’s Service Parts Supply Chain Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Principal Software Engineer - Service Parts.

The primary responsibility of this role is responsible for continuing our Service Parts transformation activities and provide high-quality deliverables to enable Parts Revenue & Profitability Growth.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Product Development Project/Program Management, the person in this role will support the Service Parts Supply Chain department's objective to deliver the right part, in the right quantity, at the right time.

What you’ll be doing

Work collaboratively with business and technology leaders, IT teams, and Solution Architects across the Service Parts Supply Chain portfolio to design and support the future service parts transformation efforts.

  • Lead the Service Parts transformation/modernization initiatives while understanding the changing business needs and industry best practices and focus on solving business problems through subject-matter-based solutions.

  • Provide technical oversight of vendor teams building solutions and improvements in the areas of Application Stability, Performance, and Complexity Reduction.

  • Participate in the strategic planning and development of core business systems. Translate vision into POCs, solutions, and technical roadmaps.

  • Communicate and build relationships with all supply chain stakeholders. Serve as a liaison between IT and business to influence direction and achieve buy in.

  • Collaborate with technical and business partner staff to arrive at the best technology solutions to exceed customer expectations.

  • Develop a 3-to-5-year strategic roadmap for systems and processes to modernize and improve customer experiences for critical global parts logistics applications.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline; OR equivalent work experience.

  • Advanced IT experience in successfully implementing complex IT applications and /or developing effective solutions to diverse and complex business challenges and opportunities.

  • Knowledge and experience with progressive technology solutions including DevOps, Cloud Computing, Micro-Services, Intelligent Automation (RPA, ML), Big Data and Analytics.

  • Demonstrated expertise in hands-on development using J2EE, Serverless (Node.js), Angular, and container-based application architecture.

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with AWS.

  • Skilled in development, testing, code review, monitoring, and support.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create and present concepts, influence and persuade others as well as make recommendations to management.

  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously while balancing the workload and constraints of each.

  • Experience implementing and/or supporting business-critical systems where volume, performance, and uptime reliability are critical.

Added bonus if you have

  • Knowledge/experience in Service Parts Supply Chain business capabilities.

  • Experience in modernizing legacy applications.

  • Cloud Certification.
