Apple Roofing Payroll Specialist in Plano, Texas

Apple Roofing is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our team. As a Payroll Specialist, you will assist in processing payroll for our employees, ensuring accurate and timely payment, as well as onboarding new employees. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle confidential information with utmost integrity.

Our ideal candidate is experienced in payroll processing, knowledgeable about payroll regulations and procedures, highly organized and efficient, and has excellent communication skills. They are comfortable working with payroll systems and software, and can handle multiple tasks with efficiency and accuracy.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in processing payroll on a timely basis, including data entry, calculation of hours, wages, and deductions

  • Assist with payroll audits and provide necessary documentation as needed

  • Maintain confidentiality of employee payroll and personal information

  • Onboard W2 employees and 1099 contractors

  • Draft/send offer letters and employee agreements

  • Request background checks

  • Complete I-9 verifications and E-verify

  • Onboard employees via Paycom

  • Send laptop agreements

  • Assist with fleet onboarding

  • Follow-up with candidates and managers

  • Maintain up-to-date onboarding and offboarding packets and checklists in Paycom

  • Maintain up-to-date employee information in Paycom (data entry)

  • Assist setting up state withholding and unemployment tax accounts

  • Audit monthly health insurance statements

  • Assist with data collection for monthly KPI reporting

  • Assist with data collection for work comp audits

  • Assist with data collection for census requests

  • Assist with equipment collection after onboarding

  • Approve Nectar awards and manage users

  • Assist with other HR tasks, as requested

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in payroll processing or related field

  • Experience with Paycom

  • Knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and procedures

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

  • Strong communication and customer service skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software
