JPMorgan Chase Lead Software Engineer - Java in Plano, Texas

As a Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the CORPORATION OVERSIGHT AND GOVERNANCE TECHNOLOGY Team, you lead multiple teams and manage day-to-day implementation activities by identifying and escalating issues and ensuring your team's work adheres to compliance standards, business requirements, and tactical best practices.

Job responsibilities

  • Engages technical teams and business stakeholders to discuss and propose architecture approaches to meet current and future needs.

  • Defines the architecture target state of their product and drives achievement of the strategy.

  • Executes creative data architecture solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions and break down technical problems.

  • Provides guidance to immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activities.

  • Sets the overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration.

  • Anticipates dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirements.

  • Manages stakeholder relationships and the team's work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirements.

  • Creates a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for the team members and prioritizes diverse representation.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years development experience in Java / J2EE Web application design and development.

  • Experience with Spring MVC and Spring BOOT Framework.

  • Development experience using UI Technologies - HTML, VTL, XSL, JavaScript, AJAX, Angular JS, React, Bootstrap.

  • In-depth knowledge in Big Data Technologies including - Spark, Kafka, Hadoop, Hbase, Impala, Restful services.

  • Experience leading technology projects.

  • Experience managing technologists.

  • Proficient in automation and continuous delivery methods.

  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.

  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.

  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience working at code level

  • Knowledge of cloud based technologies - AWS, Cloud Foundry, Google Cloud

  • Platform are an added advantage

  • Prior experience with Regulatory and Compliance applications is desirable

  • Debugging, profiling and tuning applications' performance
