Aerotek Facilities Maintenance Technician in Plano, Texas

Facilities Technician / Building Engineer

We are seeking a skilled professional to provide routine and specialized building repair and maintenance for several corporate properties. Utilizing a computerized maintenance management system, you will identify and correct issues related to mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and control systems. Additionally, you will offer technical support and general guidance to facility staff in the repair and operation of facility equipment, components, and utilities.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and resolve problems in mechanical systems, including pumps, belt drivers, gear reduction drives, piping, valve diagnosis, and replacement.

  • Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing used for wastewater distribution and disposal.

  • Install, test, maintain, and diagnose electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, fixtures, components, and systems.

  • Diagnose and repair control systems, including sensors, limit switches, solenoids, and motors.

  • Provide technical support and general guidance to facility staff in the operation and repair of facility equipment and components.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in the use of computerized systems for all aspects of job performance.

  • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, and utility systems.

  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams.

  • Ability to work effectively both unsupervised and in teams.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and listening skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

  • Experience with HVAC systems, ceiling tiles, lighting, ballasts, boilers, chillers, rooftop units, kitchen appliance repair, minor plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry, and facility maintenance.

  • Experience with hand tools and facility maintenance tasks.

Work Environment

You will be working closely with a team of 11 others, including the Chief Building Engineer, in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plano, Texas.

Must be able to start as early as 6 am and work until 6 pm when necessary. M-F

Typical Schedule is from 7am-4pm

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $37.00/hr.
