Robert Half Director of Accounting in Plano, Texas

Description 1. Leadership and Management:

o Lead and mentor the accounting team, including managers, accountants, and support staff.

o Develop and implement departmental goals, objectives, and standard operating procedures.

o Manage staffing, performance evaluations, and professional development for accounting personnel.

  1. Financial Reporting:

o Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

o Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.

o Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and implement audit recommendations.

  1. Compliance and Controls:

o Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and other regulatory requirements.

o Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard the company’s assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.

o Monitor and address any discrepancies or issues in financial reporting.

  1. Financial Analysis and Strategy:

o Provide strategic financial insights and analysis to support business decisions and performance improvement.

o Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for cost reduction or efficiency gains.

o Collaborate with other departments to develop budgets and forecasts.

  1. Process Improvement:

o Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the accounting function.

o Utilize technology and accounting software to streamline processes and reporting.

  1. Regulatory and Tax Compliance:

o Oversee compliance with tax regulations and ensure accurate and timely filing of tax returns.
