Position Summary:

The Customs Entry Writer supports Logistics Business Operations by ensuring that all assigned customs entry documents and related filings are processed accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with applicable regulatory compliance and company requirements.

Responsibilities:

Customs Documentation & Filing:

  • Process customs entry documents and filings, including ISF and Customs Entry, accurately and on time.

  • Review and distribute documentation to ensure compliance with regulations and participating government agencies.

  • Interact with Customs and other government agencies as needed to support compliance.

Client & Profile Management:

  • Maintain and update customer/importer profiles.

  • Provide timely responses to customer inquiries and status requests to ensure maximum satisfaction.

  • Notify management of customer complaints or entry discrepancies and suggest solutions to resolve issues.

Accounting Support:

  • Track and process duties, taxes, and payments on behalf of clients.

  • Issue invoices to customers or overseas offices and process payment requisitions.

Team Collaboration:

  • Support team members with accounts and day-to-day operations as needed.

  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of client Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Compliance & Standards:

  • Adhere to all regulatory compliance standards and internal productivity procedures.

  • Ensure all processes align with company policies and government regulations.

General Support: Perform other duties as requested by management.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor Degree preferred

  • 2+ years of Logistics, Freight, International Transportation, and Customs related experience

  • Ability to identify when escalation is needed to find a resolution on an existing problem

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment

  • Ability to do multi-task to ensure daily brokerage operations are successfully completed

  • Ability to create and maintain professional relationships with customers

  • Possess excellent written and verbal communications and analytical skills

  • Possess strong cross-functional teamwork, collaboration and interpersonal skills

  • Detail oriented

  • Knowledge of US Customs and other Government Agency Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook

  • Work Location: Plano, TX (Onsite)

Your base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This allows you to progress as you grow and develop within the position. Your base pay will depend on your skills, education, qualifications, experience, and location.
