About the Department
The Strategy & Rare Disease (STARS) organization drives the long-term strategic direction of Novo Nordisk Inc. (NNI)/North America Operations (NAO) and leads all US commercial efforts for Novo Nordisk’s Rare Disease portfolio. The mandate of STARS is to facilitate the development and to coordinate the execution of the long-term strategy, defining a sustainable business model in US beyond a 5-year time horizon. This department serves as the insiders of the US market when informing and help shaping upstream decisions around future investments and assets. The Rare Disease portfolio includes products in the hemophilia and growth disorders therapeutic areas, new products in the pipeline, and products acquired through business development efforts in existing and new areas. The STARS team collaborates and partners with groups across NAO, Research & Early Development, Development, innovation hubs across NN, other affiliates, and global. The Position
The purpose of the Speaker programs lead is to advance knowledge in the rare disease community. This role is responsible for developing and coordinating speaker programs on behalf of the Rare Disease TAs. This includes developing the vision for the program, developing the content for consultation with marketers, and preparing the appropriate messaging and content for events. This role supports / understands product launches and helps coordinate pre- and post-launch engagements.

Reports to the Portfolio Strategy Lead in the Rare Disease Commercial Strategy and Marketing organization.
Essential Functions
Program Development and Coordination
Coordinate and oversee speaker programs for Rare Disease TAs, ensuring seamless execution and alignment with brand objectives
Develop the vision and customer experience for Rare Disease speaker programs, identifying targeted outcomes and crafting tailored experiences
Collaborate with agency partners to develop content for speaker programs in line with brand objectives, working closely with marketers/brands to ensure strategic alignment
Prepare and equip speakers for external programs, ensuring they possess appropriate messaging and content for effective delivery
Coordinate resources for programs to ensure the effective delivery of messages and maximize program impact
Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration
Support launches and orchestrate pre- and post-launch engagement for the product, brand, and TA, fostering cohesive and comprehensive stakeholder involvement
Liaise with the TA lead to stay abreast of developments across the Rare Disease TAs, ensuring alignment and synergy in program initiatives
Collaborate with other Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to stay informed about rare disease market developments, leveraging their insights for program optimization and strategic alignment
HCP Engagement Strategy and Thought Leadership
Develop and execute HCP strategies focused on KOL identification, engagement, and market education, fostering cross-functional collaboration with medical counterparts to ensure a cohesive and impactful approach
Lead the development and execution of thought leadership programs, educational initiatives, and advisory boards involving KOLs, driving awareness and credibility for NNI Rare Disease unit and products
Inform early market education initiatives to prime the market and generate brand awareness among HCPs, working collaboratively with the Rare Disease Enterprise and Influence team to ensure strategic market education initiatives align with organizational goals
KPI Establishment and Scientific Exchange Facilitation
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of KOL and market education experience strategies, ensuring alignment with overarching business objectives
Regularly analyze and report on the effectiveness of implemented strategies, making data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement and program optimization
Facilitate scientific exchanges between internal stakeholders and KOLs to ensure a mutual understanding of NNI Rare Disease products, pipeline, and emerging healthcare trends, fostering robust scientific exchange and collaboration
Physical Requirements
20%-25% overnight travel required.
Qualifications
A Bachelors degree required, MBA-preferred
Understanding HCP landscape as it relates to US and Global Compliance preferred
Understanding of Pharmaceutical promotional presence at HCP and Patient Congresses preferred
Minimum of 6 years in sales and/or brand management/marketing experience within the pharmaceutical industry required
Experience working on Speaker Bureau/Medical Education preferred
Experience with biopharmaceutical and injectable products is a plus
Planning, Execution and Follow-Up - effectively prioritizes and spends his/her time and the time of other on what is important. Develops accurate short and long-term plans
Creative, innovative thinker with strong strategic mind-set and understanding of market needs
Proven ability to work on cross functional teams
Strong communications, project management skills and relationship building capacity to ensure timely execution and appropriate follow up
Must exhibit strategic thought and leadership with the ability to think and lead at the big picture level as well as the ability to translate strategic objectives into specific initiatives and manage successful execution
Experience in budget management as well as attention to detail and ability to adequately forecast and adjust accordingly required
