The Position

This position has the responsibility of working with the brand marketing teams and other key functional areas of the organization in the planning, submission, review and approval, distribution and lifecycle management of promotional marketing materials. The Manager will oversee the process across designated portions of the portfolio and leverages his/her technical and process experience to guide the successful completion of promotional initiatives.

Relationships

Reports to Director, Marketing Operations. Primary interaction is with teams that submit into PRB (e.g. Brand teams, Centers of Excellence, Corporate Communications, etc.) Also interacts with Sales, Medical, Regulatory, and Legal. The Manager leads, manages, and directs a cross functional team that could consist of PRB specialists, P&D Specialists, PRB Coordinators, external vendors, through the entire lifecycle of all promotional activities and ensures alignment with NNI standards.

Essential Functions

  • PRB Planning and Review Process:

  • Manages marketing materials planning and review process, including PRB submission planning, PRB meeting management including scribing in PRB meetings

  • Manages prioritization of PRB submissions with brands and COEs

  • Oversee planning tool across Marketing Operations

  • Participates in Brand EBT, Sub-team, agency status calls, and/or POA/ADA planning meetings

  • Closely tracks and monitors PRB metrics

  • Manages the communications and operations related to POA planning and ADA calendars including creation of PRB submission calendars and tracking of material

  • Production and Distribution Management:

  • Knowledgeable about all Marketing materials (reviewed in PRB) that need production (whether executed by Marketing Operations or direct through Marketing Teams/Agencies)

  • Manage P&D Specialists to ensure that all production activities are completed on schedule and budget, warehouse stock is at correct levels, items are reordered as needed, 24-month re-reviews are planned, and inventory reports are disseminated to stakeholders

  • Commercial Asset Lifecycle Management:

  • Partner with Associate Manager Digital Assets to ensure that all commercial assets are captured and stored within the NNI DAM system

  • Assist in efforts to re-purpose and re-use commercial assets in order to reduce costs and reduce time to market

  • PRB Budgeting and Reporting:

  • Manage PMM budget as it relates to the PRB process

  • Additional Responsibilities:

  • Manages a team that could consist of NNI employees and contingent workforce

  • Manages the development and execution of all training materials for PMM processes and system

  • Manages the implementation of systems and processes to ensure the efficient development, planning, and review of high-quality marketing materials

  • Member of PRB Working Group along with leaders from Legal, Medical/Medical Information, Regulatory, and Marketing

  • Management of all system users/participants

  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) for annual Corporate Audit

    Physical Requirements

    0-10% overnight travel required.

    Supervisory

    Ensure that reporting personnel have individual development plans (IDP), with annual goals and measurements that are consistent with the priorities of the business, and that interim reviews are held so that their work is focused on those priorities, and they understand their level of accountability for results and the measurement process.

    Ensure that the IDP forms include completed learning and aspiration plans and are in place for all reporting personnel to enable the achievement of goals and capability to assume increased levels of responsibility.

    Manage the application and communication of all Novo Nordisk policies, procedures, and Novo Nordisk Way.

    Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree required

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in an advertising and promotion related field, such as in marketing/advertising operations within pharmaceuticals or other industries, advertising agency, marketing communications, or direct marketing company

  • Veeva Vault experience preferred

  • Must have strong knowledge of pharmaceutical advertising and promotion practices agency management, print production, and materials management skills

  • Anticipates problems and roadblocks to avoid crisis management

  • Communication, change management, influencing, and networking skills are critical

  • Effectively prioritizes and spends time on what is important

  • Ensures timely execution and follow-up and meets deadlines

  • Meeting facilitation experience required
