Job Overview:

The Finance Manager – Supply Programs is a key role responsible for financial leadership of the Supply Tax Agility Programs and providing financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making for supply chain operations. This position will report to the L4 Supply Finance Director – Strategy and Integration and work closely and in partnership with the Manager – Export Strategy, Supply Chain Integration Director, logistics team, key FP&A partners in Budapest, and procurement teams to optimize costs, mitigate risks, improve profitability of these programs, and ensure financial targets are met.

  • Supply Decision Support = 30%

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Be a strategic finance partner to the supply chain tax agility program team, and take leadership of the program’s financials providing strategic and analytical support on an ongoing basis

  • Actively partner, lead discussions and provide thought leadership from the finance angle on new initiatives in the area and provide quantitative guidance and perspectives on opportunities and size of prize analytics

  • Constantly analyze environment, costs and other impacts both in NAM and across in other markets to understand, process and quantify risk to any of the lines of the Tax agility program.

  • Engage and work with corporate and technical accounting to ensure that transactions are being booked and accrued for in accordance with accounting principles and Diageo policies

  • In partnership with and under the guidance of the Directors of Tax Agility Program and Supply finance, ad-Hoc modeling work around new lines of business, expansions, contractions, consolidations which will involve development of simulated proforma P&L’s to help quantify strategy into actionable tasks

  • Engage and work with multifunctional team of experts and key teams from the UK, as the need arises in the area of duty draw back, Customer Operations, Logistics, Accounting, Brand FP&A, Inventory to provide leadership and drive key decisions

  • Work with market partners beyond NAM, to understand root causes of market fluctuations in order to provide counsel and risk/opportunity guidance to leadership. Protecting the Tax Agility P&L from potential risk from demand

  • Lead the AOP process for the Tax Agility programs and understand the cost dynamics across markets to understand financial impact on program P&L. This will include analysis of standards, other cost estimates and comparative analytics

  • Lead the monthly reporting and LE process which will involve articulating the Tax Agility story, clearly highlighting and quantifying opportunities and risks with the identification of root causes

  • In the spirit of continuous improvement and bettering profitability for the Tax Agility programs, constantly work with operations, procurement and logistics to look for and propose cost savings and/or cost reduction opportunities and see them flow into the program P&Ls. As an extension see these savings make their way into standards for the next year

  • In partnership with the Tax Agility Program leadership develop performance KPI’s for the programs to help continuously monitor the health of these programs and provide warning systems to enable team to take corrective measures

Experience needed (not exhaustive list):

  • 5+ years finance and business experience across various roles demonstrating increasing responsibilities

  • Strong financial analysis skill, including ability to distill sophisticated issues into a financial analysis to support decision making or vice versa ability to take limited information and still develop financial perspective to support decision making.

  • Some work experience in Supply Finance to be able to add positive value to the role by understanding costing processes

  • Experience in handling budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting.

  • Fair accounting knowledge as most of the tax agility program lean on accounting treatment

  • Some exposure to capital evaluations for new projects and investments.

  • Strong communication and inspiring leadership skills to engage, manage and influence senior customers across the organization

  • Ability to network, influence, collaborate and build alignment cross functionally and at all levels of the organization

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and a constantly changing environment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, a combination thereof or related fields; MBA preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience in business finance, with at least 2 years in a supply chain finance role.

  • Strong analytical skills and experience with financial modeling.

  • Familiar with current software tools and systems, such as SAP ERP

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and presentation capabilities.

  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and lead cross-functional teams.

  • CPA or CMA certification is a plus.

  • Sophisticated knowledge of supply chain processes and financial implications.

The Finance Manager role will be based in an office setting at Plainfield, IL but may on occasion need travel to manufacturing sites or 3 WTC, NY
